The Barrier Island Center is an environmental education facility managed and funded through the Brevard County Environmentally Endangered Lands Program, a division of the Parks & Recreation Department, in partnership with the Caribbean Conservation Corporation. The Barrier Island Center is located on the east coast of Florida south of Melbourne Beach and adjacent to the globally significant sea turtle nesting beaches of the Archie Carr Refuge. | |||
Parking will be available at Chapel-by-the-Sea with a shuttle van running all day. Be sure to bring your beach combing cabinet curiosities to identify and display for a chance to win beach chic prizes. | |||
