The U.S. Department of the Interior's Fish and Wildlife Service maintains unused Kennedy Space Center property, including Mosquito Lagoon, as the Merritt Island National Wildlife Refuge and Canaveral National Seashore.
The Mission of the U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service: working with others to conserve, protect and enhance fish, wildlife, and plants and their habitats for the continuing benefit of the American people.
