Indian River Lagoon Project Site Plan
Indian River Lagoon Project uses the popular Mediawiki software to catalog the vast amount of reference material needed to present the subject matter. A library model was chosen to organize the site's content and features. This site plan is a proposed outline of the site's organization.
- The Guide section is our model library's Periodicals department. It contains current "light" articles and news, a digital media center and an informative web links directory. It is the Reader's Digest Condensed version of our subject matter.
- Estuary is our model's Reference Desk. It is the Indian River Estuary encyclopedia, dictionary, media center and reference material repository.
- Community is our "Friends of the Library" section, containing the User Features that membership brings, such as Indian River Lagoon Project Events, Interest Groups, Profiles, Personal Pages (blog & talk), user site preferences, and most importantly, the ability to upload and contribute content. We hope this site becomes an active gathering place for "Friends of the Lagoon".
- The Portal section is our Library's facility and faculty, containing business related content like the site's About, Contact Us, Legal, Authoring, Technical and Administration information.
This site plan shows the 4 major sections of the Portal and their proposed and completed features. Proposed features are displayed in a black font and available content shows a blue page link. This page is manually updated. View Special:Allpages to see all of the site's current content pages.
