“The Future of Wildlife is in Our Hands” Virtual Field Trip, Nov. 18
Do you know what to do you when you find injured wildlife? Who helps care for injured animals? Why is it so important to keep wildlife wild? To find out, join the City of Melbourne ECO Division and the Marine Resources Council (MRC) on November 18 at 9 a.m. for a rare and exciting virtual field trip. Our special guest, Lindsay Mayer, will be giving a tour of the Florida Wildlife Hospital (FWH) to give us an exclusive look into the day-to-day functioning of the hospital. Lindsay is the Outreach and Volunteer Manager for FWH. She is also an experienced animal care professional who has worked in the wildlife rehabilitation and zoo industry over the last decade working with animals ranging from squirrels to Komodo dragons.

Florida Wildlife Hospital has been rescuing, rehabilitating, and releasing thousands of sick, injured, and orphaned animals in Brevard County since 1973. Come get a virtual, up-close look inside the Florida Wildlife Hospital and learn about some of Florida’s native wildlife being cared for, how to recognize when animals need help and how you can help too.

This 45-minute long virtual field trip is geared toward youth, but open to all ages. Participants will have the chance to ask questions through the Q&A box that will be answered toward the end of the presentation. Participants are also encouraged to email questions about FWH and Florida wildlife to the MRC's Programs Coordinator, Bri Forte at [[1]] by November 16.
