The Canaveral Barge Canal enables ocean going vessels to access the Indian River ICW

About

The Canaveral Barge Canal cuts thru Merritt Island, Florida to connect the Banana River and Indian River in Brevard County. Oceangoing vessels may access the Banana River through the Canaveral Locks, then head westward in the Canaveral Barge Channel, to enter the Canaveral Barge Canal at Merritt Island, and exit onto the Indian River Intracoastal Waterway.
