(1) · The Gopher Tortoise Council has declared April 10th as Gopher Tortoise Day to raise awareness for this remarkable reptile. Gopher tortoises are charming creatures that are classified as state-threatened in Florida, primarily due to habitat loss. (1) · The Saint Johns River Water Management District will now allow all Florida water management districts and the FDEP to rapidly access the BlueGreen algicide treatment when critical harmful algal blooms (HAB) are present.
