On November 9, 2021 the St. Johns River Water Management District Governing Board voted to amend Melbourne's Crane Creek M-1 Canal Restoration Project in order to add additional funding and to extend the expiration date. (1) · U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service (USFWS), Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC), and Florida Power & Light Company (FPL) are enhancing efforts to address the unusual manatee mortality event (UME) in the North Indian River Lagoon.
